Osteopathic Emergency Medicine Residency Information

 

 

The Emergency Medicine Residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center is the only osteopathic emergency medicine residency in Florida. It is an OPGY 2-4 program and admission is highly competitive. Mt. Sinai Medical Center is a 707-bed acute care hospital that encompasses the Miami Heart Institute. Mt. Sinai residents rotate at UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. Resident physicians also benefit from training in other high volume emergency departments at Parkway and Hialeah Hospitals. Curriculum includes pediatric emergency medicine at Miami Children's Hospital, a state approved pediatric trauma center.  Mt. Sinai ED volume is approximately 35,000 patient visits per year. Lisa DeWitt, DO, FACOEP, serves as the Program Director. Dr. DeWitt encourages inquiries and medical student shadowing opportunities.
